Tennis Lessons

Wednesdays 7:00pm - 8:00pm
6 classes - June 19th - July 31st (no class on July 3rd)

Outdoor Lighted Tennis Courts
Beginner or just brushing up on your skills, this class may be just what you are looking for. Class size is limited to 12, so don't wait to register!

Runners & Walkers Club

Monday through Friday 8:00am - 9:15am
7 week program - June 10th through July 26th
Fieldhouse

Organized walking and running program for Independence residents, City of Independence employees, high school sports programs, free and open to all ages 10 and up! Includes warm up, movement, either walking or running, core work, and cool down.

Heart and Soul Meditation - Sowing the Seeds

Civic Center Willow Room

The Simple, Easy, Every Day Meditation Method or SEED is a simple mindfulness meditation method, one that is easy to learn and practice. When done daily, this method will benefit you physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Cyndi Moffitt, certified instructor with "Heart and Soul Meditation" will teach this one and a half hour class. Class will include: what is meditation, top misconceptions, benefits of meditation and mindfulness, The Stress Response, 3 ingredients to any meditation, and the 5 essentials of meditation. Each class will be unique. There is no experience necessary to attend. The guided meditation types may be one of several of the following - Breath Awareness / Practice Breath Techniques, Body Awareness, Loving Kindness, Gratitude, Mantra Meditation, Self-Inquiry, Mindfulness. Learn the basic skills of Pickleball on Monday and Wednesday sessions including: rules, scoring, basic strokes, serve and reception. Please wear comfortable clothes and appropriate indoor court shoes. Basic Equipment available or bring your own.

Dog Obedience Class

7 One Hour Classes - Starts Tuesday, May 14th through June 25th
Fee: $95 // Pre-Registration Required
Obedience training is another way of showing you care for your dog.  Training helps you, your friends and neighbors enjoy your dog even more.  Grace Cohara has been training dogs for fifty years, her dogs have earned over 50 obedience titles as of now, as she continues to show in competition.
