OHIO LAW 143
Effective on April 26, 2013, Ohio Law 143. This is the law known as the "Return to Play" Law dealing with youth concussions and when a youth player is allowed to return to play. All Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Umpires, and Referees must complete the FREE course to continue coaching, umpiring or refereeing in any and all sports. (Link is located at the top of this page.) It takes about 25 minutes to complete, once you have passed the course you will be able to print a certificate. Please take the time to look into to this and take the course, this is an effort to improve prevention, recognition and response to sports-related concussions. It is our responsibility as parents, coaches, referees and umpires to help recognize and make the call to pull an athlete off the field, ice, or court if you think that a player might have a concussion.
