GUIDELINES FOR SPECIAL PICK UP:
Special Pick Up is on the RESIDENT'S RUBBISH DAY.
This includes furniture, couches, chairs, tables, TV's, mattresses, box springs, toilets, etc. and does NOT require a call to schedule for pick up.
Please have your items at the treelawn prior to 7:30 am on your rubbish day.
Items NOT picked up on your rubbish day & REQUIRED to call in
for a FRIDAY Special Pick Up at 216-524-9191:
Computers and Computer Equipment
Paints, oil, pesticides, anti-freeze, gas, propane tanks, and other misc. chemicals
Special Pick up occurs every Friday. Please call the Service Department at (216) 524-9191 by Thursday of each week to schedule a special pick up of the acceptable items listed on this page. When calling in the evening, please leave your address and description of the item for special pick up on the voice mail. Items must be curbside by 7:30 a.m. the day of pick up. Should you have an excessive amount of building material, trash, household items, or any miscellaneous items, a dumpster/container is required. Dumpsters are only given out from April until the first week in October through the City's dumpster program, however you can rent a dumpster through any commercial dumpster service at any time through out the year.
Yard waste which includes grass clippings, leaves, dirt, logs, stumps in pieces, etc. is NOT picked up for Special Pick Up. All yard waste is picked up on your scheduled rubbish day EXCEPT for chipper stops. Call branches between 1 to 8 inches in diameter in for a chipper stop to the Service Department at 216-524-9191.
Items the City does not pick up are: TIRES
Tires are picked up the first three (3) Friday's in September. Call 216-524-9191 prior to the first three (3) Friday's in September to schedule a pick up of tires.
The City issued rubbish and recycling cans are not to be put out for Special Pick Up.
Special Pickup items include:
- Appliances (refrigerator doors must be removed),
- Hot Water Tanks
- Fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs)
- Paint, oil and chemicals in closed containers
- Computers and monitors
- Metal items
