It is the mission of 25 & Alive to promote positive choices for youth and parents, to reduce the occurrences of drinking and driving, experimentation with drugs and alcohol, and to provide support for social issues facing parents and young people.

Hey Parents! 25 & Alive means...
The 25 & Alive Program is a partnership between the City Government (Police, Court, Community Services), Schools, Clergy, Parents, Teenagers and the Business Community aimed at impacting drug and alcohol experimentation and abuse among teenagers before the problems manifest into a serious injury or fatality.
Drunk driving is the leading cause of death for young adults, ages 15 to 24. It's our goal as a community to help kids reach the age of 25 ~ Alive!
Have you considered...
- Utilizing the resources of the community to help you in your job as a parent:
- Encourage your teenager to participate in activities sponsored by 25 & Alive. The city-wide logo will designate activities at the Civic Center, with Youth Groups and PTO's.
- Use the Community Diversion Program as a tool to teach and aid your teenager if they do find themselves in trouble. Call the police department to report a party, a crime, or if you have questions in general.
- Expanding areas of communication. Sign the Parent Pledge ~ Become a Member
- Network with other parents to set the same limits, like curfews and rules about spending the night, thereby avoiding "...well Jack's parents are letting Hiiiiim do it..!"
- Don't be afraid to call other parents to make sure parties will be supervised and free of alcohol. Make sure someone will be home!
Offer them a "free ride" home in case they are with someone who made a poor choice. Remember, it's OUR GOAL to get them to age...

We want you around for your future. We want to see what you'll become. We want to see you succeed. We want to help you. We are:

We understand that...
- Adolescence is the next step to adulthood, and you're now making more of your own decisions.
- We should, whenever possible, let you learn from the results of your own actions.
Please understand that...
- Parents and authorities draw the line at alcohol consumption, because a poor decision could end in death. ALCOHOL IMPAIRS JUDGMENT.
- Choices you make now can affect your entire life. If you're not afraid of death, remember ~ brain damage and missing limbs can also impair you.
- Drunk driving is the leading cause of death for young adults, aged 15 to 24 (American Academy of Pediatrics, 2000).
- 25 & Alive is about helping you make smart choices so you can enjoy the future, like graduating from college, having your own apartment, and gaining some freedom.
