Growth of the Rockside Road Corridor
We invite you to take a video tour of Independence.
Independence, Ohio has been blessed with a location that has made it a business and corporate phenomenon in Northeast Ohio. As the leading 'edge city' to Cleveland, Independence has blossomed into a corporate and hi-technology center to more than 1400 businesses occupying the Rockside Road Corridor. More than 35,000 people now work in Independence and travel from the outreaches of every east, west and south residential suburbs.
Economic Development is important to the City and its 7100 residents. Revenues from the City Employment tax generate more than 18 million dollars yearly to City Management and Services.
The influx of companies coming to Independence has given rise to the development of more upscale hotels, franchises and retail opportunities along the business corridor. It is no wonder that this modern corporate business center in the suburban green space just 10 miles south of Cleveland is the ideal workplace for the young executive.
The City of Independence has set up a business liaison to help developers and site planners sort through the necessary details and facts important to developing or relocating to Independence. Ronald White, Executive Assistant to the Mayor, will see that each inquiry is provided with the most accurate and up to date information to make an informed decision about joining our business community.
