The People Behind the Scenes
The Service Department and its staff of dedicated employees are the people behind the scenes that add great value to the people who live and work in Independence.
The Department, headed by David Snyderburn, oversees the delivery of services that include necessary street, sewer and public grounds maintenance. This department also provides trash collection and setup for special community events like the annual Christmas Tree and Downtown lighting ceremony, Home Days, July 4TH and a host of special events. Once-a-week trash collection is supplemented by the pick-up of recycled items.
