Involta’s Independence Data Center Now Open
Involta has expanded its Ohio presence with a new 25,000 square foot multi-tenant data center in Independence. To fulfill customer demand, Involta has built a new high-security, concurrently maintainable data center to house mission-critical computer systems and related services. The new facility will serve Involta clients in Akron, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and surrounding markets.

The new Independence facility consists of conditioned data center space, additional storage space, mechanical and electrical infrastructure and additional office space for client and business continuity use. This highly-secure, state-of-the-art facility is connected to the Involta Akron data center complex by a fiber ring that provides sub-millisecond latency between the two concurrently maintainable sites, allowing for real-time services twinned between the two locations.

Involta’s Ohio presence spans five facilities – the brand-new facility in Independence, a world-class enterprise facility in Akron, two diversely-connected facilities in Youngstown and an operations management agreement for the Connect Community Data Center near Columbus. Involta also owns more than 5,500 fiber route miles throughout Ohio.

The new Independence data center benefits from utilizing Independence’s city-owned conduit network. Independence has recently invested in the installation of conduit throughout the City’s business districts to enable better and more reliable access to fiber based broadband. Gaining access to the City’s conduit network was an important reason for Involta constructing the data center in Independence.
