 INDEPENDENCE MAYOR’S COURT

Certain traffic violations and criminal offenses can be waived - that is you can admit guilt and pay your fines and court costs without a court hearing.  Other violations REQUIRE a hearing under the law.

You may check to see if you can waive a hearing and pay your citation at court.independenceohio.org.

If your citation requires a mandatory hearing, or if you have a previous case you would like to resolve, the Court is conducting hearings either by telephone or by using the Zoom platform.  NO PERSONAL APPEARANCE IS REQUIRED.

If you received a citation and a hearing is required, please click on the link below to fill out a Tele-Hearing Request Form, or you may email the court at Court@IndependenceOhio.org with your name, telephone number, and citation number.

You may contact the Court at 216.524.7719 or email the completed Tele-Hearing Request Form to Court@IndependenceOhio.org.

All payments for waived violations and offenses must be made before your hearing date. Click here to pay online, or you may pay by money order/certified check via postal mail, or by using the Court drop box located in the lobby of City Hall.

It is our mission to provide the best possible customer service to assist you throughout the court process, however, the Clerk's office is not permitted to give legal advice.
