Indy Fit
We have brought together the dedicated staff of our Parks & Recreation Department and some of the finest healthcare practitioners in and around Northeast Ohio to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. Indy Fit provides well thought-out health and wellness programs, informational materials and purpose driven exercises to meet its mission to: have a positive impact on the community; help others become the healthiest versions of themselves; and motivate others to reach their fullest potential by setting and reaching challenging goals they might not have otherwise imagined.

The Indy Fit pass is now available for purchase! This 8-class punch pass ($40 for residents, $45 for non-residents) covers all of our city-run fitness classes, listed below. Classes are continuous registration, and Indy Fit passes are available at the Civic Center Recreation Desk. Indy Fit class walk-in fees are $8.

Barre Fusion
Sundays - 10:00 a.m.

Civic Center Aerobic Room

Barre Fusion is a fitness class that combines the principles of ballet, yoga, Pilates and calisthenics to improve cardio, strength and flexibility. There is strong emphasis on posture, core strength and proper technique. A ballet barre is used with one’s body for resistance while performing various leg, hip and seat exercises. Light hand weights are used throughout the class to focus on toning arms, back and shoulders. No dance experience necessary!

Jayme's Cycle Class: Cycle & Sculpt

Civic Center Aerobic Room

Cycle & Sculpt is a fun and effective high intensity strength and cardio workout. The class begins with cycling intervals and drills on a (stationary) bike followed by 20 minutes of total body sculpting exercises off the bike incorporating the use of various types of strength and resistance training. This class will torch calories and sculpt and tone your entire body! The class is suitable for all levels of fitness (modifications are given and riders control their own level of resistance and pedal speed). All you need is a water bottle and towel!

Independence Fieldhouse
Outside of Elmwood Recreation Building during warm weather days (May through August)

Work your muscles in every way possible in this class designed to build muscle strength, definition and endurance. In this class we utilize our own body weight, resistance bands, and more. No muscle gets neglected in this class!

Sculpting Circuit 
Tuesdays & Thursdays - 8:15 a.m.
Civic Center Aerobic Room

Sculpt and tone your body while improving your cardiovascular system. Suitable for all levels, you will obtain overall fitness, reduce body fat, increase energy, improve core strength and so much more!

Zumba with Tessa
Fridays - 8:30 a.m.
Civic Center Aerobic Room

Enjoy Zumba with Instructor Tessa. This morning class applies to the Indy Fit punch pass (and not the Tuesday & Thursday Zumba class pass).

Body Shop for the Young @ Heart

Civic Center Aerobic Room

Come join us for a total body workout that includes a variety of easy to follow exercises which will burn calories and sculpt and tone your entire body. This class will help increase your strength and improve overall balance. This fun, low-impact workout is perfect for all levels of fitness and is designed for the young at heart!

Cardio Sculpt
Mondays & Wednesdays - 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.
6-class punch card ($60/residents, $65/non-residents) or $12 walk-in fee

This class is a total body workout. You will burn calories and sculpt and tone your entire body.

Jazzercise
Monday through Friday - 9:30 a.m.

Civic Center Aerobic Room

Jazzercise is the original dance exercise phenomenon! Each 60-minute class offers a blend of exercise with the fun of dance, set to your favorite music. Easy to follow, fun choreography includes a gentle warm-up, a 30-minute aerobic workout, muscle toning and strengthening segment with weights & stretch finale.

On Sundays from October through May, you can also try Interval Fusion, a great option to cross train your way into a fit and fabulous look! This class intersperses strength training routines with aerobic routines. Strength is done by working with heavier weights and xertubes and includes floor routines.

Jazzercise is a continuous registration program. Your Jazzercise card allows you to attend any class that meets your schedule – inquire about autopay to have fees automatically withdrawn from an account on a month-to-month basis.

Music and Mobility
Fridays - 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.
$10/residents, $15/non-residents per class
Civic Center Aerobic Room

This group is designed for those with decreased walking mobility, whether due to stroke, Parkinson's, knee/hip replacements, MS, arthritis, etc. Focusing on exercises that address specific components of walking, our Board Certified Music Therapists are trained in using music to improve range of motion, flexibility and strength, all geared towards improved walking mobility. Come join the fastest growing sport in the nation. It's for all ages and experience levels. Pickleball is a combination of tennis and ping pong played on a badminton size court. Learn the basic skills of pickleball on Monday and Wednesday sessions including: rules, scoring, basic strokes, serve and reception. Please wear comfortable clothes and appropriate indoor court shoes. Basic equipment available or bring your own.
